Welcome to Friends of Leominster Library

The Friends of Leominster Library is a volunteer support group of people who care about Leominster Library and its services.  We believe that the library is a vital community facility for Leominster and its district.  It has a wide and varied choice of books and films to borrow and computers for visitor’s use.  It is a community hub and a source of information and culture.  The Friends want to assist the library by raising funds for special projects and volunteering their time for special events.

The aims and objects of the Friends of Leominster Library are

Random Books

To promote the work of the library

To encourage
the greater use
of the library

Girl reading book

To support the library as a hub of cultural activities

To provide resources for Leominster library

To host meetings and cultural events

In order to achieve these objects the Friends have regular liaison with the Library and its staff in order to support events which are regularly arranged by the Library, particularly for children.  These events will often be related to the services offered by the Library but also include events arranged simply to introduce children and their parents to the Library.

An important part of what the Friends do is fundraising in order to provide financial support for the ‘extras’ which are not provided by the local authority.  The Friends have a small annual subscription and host cultural events, usually at the library itself, to raise funds.  For details of any upcoming events please click on ‘News’ above.

Like most volunteer groups the Friends are always looking for new members.  If the reader shares the aims of the Friends we invite you to join us.
